Veterans Residency Status

ÁùºÏ²Ê»ã offers veterans residency status for tuition discount

The University of Alaska grants eligible veterans, their spouses and children in-state tuition at any of the ÁùºÏ²Ê»ã system’s 16 campuses.

The policy aligns with the post-911 GI Bill, which offers eligible veterans generous benefits based on the highest in-state tuition rates in all states, a housing stipend and textbook allowance.

ÁùºÏ²Ê»ã has offered the in-state tuition benefits to active military personnel for several years - eligible veterans are now able to benefit as well.

The ÁùºÏ²Ê»ã Board of Regents approved granting veterans residency for tuition purposes in June 2009.
